| | Promoting Active Communites |
 | | The Promoting Active Communities Award (PAC) is part of a state initiative on physical activity to help Michigan communities make changes to their policies, promotion strategies, and the physical design of their communities in order to make it easier for community residents to be physically active. |
 | | Created by the Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH), the Michigan Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports,, the Prevention Research Center of Michigan, and Michigan State University, the PAC is a web-based self-assessment tool that enables communities to examine their policies, programs, and environments by completing a self-assessment (www.mihealthtools.org/communities). |
 | | Any city, township, charter township, or village in the State of Michigan is eligible to complete the self-assessment and award application. |
