The Buffalo Metro rail is good, especially for the fact that it accommodates thousands of local commuters everyday.
The second one, at the end of the University Station, was supposed to have stretched to the University at Buffalo North Campus, which explains the station's original name, the South Campus Station.
Like the city as a whole, the Buffalo Metro rail has plenty of potential to be something much bigger and better than what it has been reduced to.

An expanded Metro Rail would increase mobility for all area residents and provide access to jobs, for suburban residents to the city and for urban residents to the suburbs.
Citizens for Regional Transit is a grassroots organization which seeks to educate the public, public officials, their authorities and agencies in the Buffalo-Niagara region about the benefits of a comprehensive transportation system and actively advocates for the expansion of Metro Rail to the suburbs.

A member of the Citizens Rapid Transit Committee, Catherine Fanasello, has suggested that the proposed Cobblestone District Metro Rail loop also be used for a vintage trolley service.
Vintage trolleys could run on standard Metro Rail track, but, with combustible materials inside, could not carry passengers in the underground portion of the system.
A line in Buffalo would serve multiple purposes while supplementing regular service: A downtown shuttle service, a waterfront shuttle, historic district shuttle, and a ‘downtown-to-feature’ role, the ‘feature’ being the Cobblestone District, Crossroads Arena, and adjacent waterfront.

Expected overflow crowds at Buffalo Place's "Thursday at the Square" concert series has prompted the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority to adjust Metro Rail in downtown Buffalo.
For four "Thursday" concerts, the Metro Rail trains will suspend their service between the Lafayette and Church Street Stations -- both of which take riders directly behind the stage in Lafayette Square.
The switch is being made for Thursday's India.arie along with the July 27 Robert Randolph and Family Band show, the Aug. 3 Violent Femmes concert and the Aug. 31 Eric Burdon and the Animals concert.
