  Bught damage hits sporting fixtures - The Inverness Courier
MAJOR improvements could be introduced at Bught Park after damage caused by two high profile events in seven days forced scores of sport fixtures to be rearranged.
"The Bught is a wonderful venue, but when you get exceptional weather like this you've got to sit back and assess what we have learnt," said events organiser Gerry Reynolds, who intends looking at the possibility of creating a permanent roadway onto the park.
Four games due to be played at Bught Park were cancelled last night and other fixtures will be put back as the only other pitches used by the league are at Culloden, where just two games can be staged.

From 1934 home games have been played in the Bught Park, the scene of many cup finals, where there are splendid facilities and a fine grandstand.
After 1919 a field at Lower Kessock Street was used and from 1923 to 1934 play was held in a field at the Bught, provided by Mr William MacBean, near the present fine pitch.
John W. MacKillop, who was a past president of the Camanachd Association, helped to revive the club after World War II and succeeded in getting the revenue authorities to recognise shinty as a national game exempt from entertainment tax.

I found out that the highland games were to be taking place in Bught Park right in Inverness and what better place to find a campsite than one practically around the corner from the park...
As we pulled out of Bught Park, we did manage to see this caravan place in the middle of the city, with RVs and tents practically stacked up on top of eachother.
We also saw this indoor water park near the caravan site and I had mentioned to Michael that on the website for Bught Caravan, it mentioned that it was within walking distance to the Aquadome and some sports center.

Starting on Bught Road, at the Highland Rugby Clubhouse, the new road bike route follows Bught Road, past the Ness islands, along Ness Walk and Bishops Road to cross the river Ness at the Ness Bridge opposite the Castle.
The official timed start is just past the Holm roundabout (a neutralised zone is required to take participants from Bught Park to Holm roundabout).
The home straight along the River takes you back to the Bught Park passing Inverness Cathedral which was built in 1869.
