Cycle or push for 11/2 km on the east side of Loch Builg to regain the estate road, with some fine descents down Glen Builg to the river Avon.
Cross the Builg on the bridge to visit the spectacular falls of the Linn of Avon only ½ km from the route.
Fork left between the lochans before Loch Builg, cross the bridge over the river Gairn, and follow the estate road round the side of Culardoch, to descend to Invercauld House (33km).

Anyway, we decided to try the Loch Builg track, from the north this time, despite the fact that it was raining when we got up.
We now followed Glen Builg and had to climb away from it a couple of times, which meant hauling the bikes as we had a full load on board.
There was a narrow boggy path along the east side of Loch Builg and we eventually got onto the LRT at 1.50pm.

The Bealach Dearg is an ancient trade route, It was almost used for the military road, the Lecht being preferred, either way the road would be often be blocked by snow.
I passed Culardoch on a crossing of the Bealach Dearg, from a camp near Loch Builg.
I was heading for Linn of Dee, via Invercauld and the old road opposite Braemar.Does Builg have the same route as the Welsh Bwlch?

The starting point for the walk is on the old military road which runs north from Balmoral to Gairnshiel Lodge.
The buses will drop you at the point where the track heads west towards Corndavon Lodge and Loch Builg.

 From the Mountains to the Sea
We aimed to walk northwards from Braemar in the Dee valley, past Keiloch to a tremendous vista by the shoulder of Ben Avon and follow the River Gairn on passed Loch Builg into Glen Builg and Tomintoul.
The wind is strong and cold and we spot mountain hares, their white coats making them stand out brightly against the dark background.
We leave the River Gairn to continue its journey westwards and turn to the North, on passed Loch Builg into Glen Builg and the Linn of Avon.

Sometimes I get used to recieving an answer in a few hours, but every once in a while,it takes a few days or even a week.
Anyway, I don't have your answer, but I am very interested in snubbers right now and would really like to see pics of what you have created so that I may begin to builg a visual of what they should look like.
You may need ~470 uF bypass near the chip, if supply leads are long.If power supply leads are very short,these caps are not strictly necessarry.A 100nF ceramic caps are needed anyway.

The second leg down the Glen Builg was more testing by far.
Go south following the line of the Builg Burn until the track dwindles to a boggy path that moistly hugs the east shore of Loch Builg - GR NJ188035.
Down to the junction with another landrover track and left then right past an assortment of small pools to cross the River Gairn at GR NJ190021.

This expedition took place at the end of the summer term in the Cairngorms.
There were three groups, two of which did a back-to-back route taking in Abernerthy Forest, Bynach Mor, Fords of Avon, Findouran, Avon Valley, Loch Builg, Culardoch and Invercauld.
The third group walked from Achlean at Glen Feshie, Geldie Burn, White Bridge, Glen Dee, Glen Luibeg, Derry Lodge and then on to the Linn of Dee.

This is a route I did over 2 days camping rough at the site of the former Bynack Stable (NJ020105), which is no longer marked on newer OS maps.
Starting from Queens view car park 1km South of Tomintoul the track soon meets the tarmac estate road which I followed all the way down to Linn of Avon, here a bridge crosses Builg Burn and leads West along Glen Avon
After passing Faindoran Lodge the track soon disappears and you push for the next 5km across boglands and where the valley narrows, some very rough singletrack, only very brief spells of riding can be had over this 5km section, some spectacular views though, with Cairngorm looming directly in front of you.
