Bulgarian (slang) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The word "Bulgarian" used today to describe ethnic Bulgarians, originated as "Bulgars" and indicated a much wider region of Eastern Europe since the country of Bulgaria was much bigger in those days.
The war they initiated against the Bulgarian Empire was especially fierce, but the Bulgarians managed to devastate the attacking crusaders' armies of the fourth crusade and to launch a successful couterattack campaign.
According to some estimations the war between the Bulgarians under Tsar Kaloyan and the aggression of the crusaders took the lives of more than 600 French nobles, their generals, lutenants and armies who tried to plunder the Bulgarian state.

Macedonian language - Encyclopedia, History, Geography and Biography
Bulgarian and Serbian views state, each in its own favor, that "Macedonian" is a modern coinage which merely denotes the western Bulgarian or southern Serbian dialects of the area, and that the "Macedonian language" is merely a dialect of their respective languages.
The Bulgarian linguists use to emphasise that a lexicological comparison between Macedonian and Bulgarian reveals that roughly 15% of the whole vocabulary of both languages is different, although most words usually exist in the other language with a different or slightly modified meaning.
Lexical differences are owing to a great extent to loanwords borrowed by Bulgarian from Russian and by Macedonian from Serbian in the middle and the end of the 20th century.

The Bulgarian soldier, that is to say, the Bulgarian serving under the colours, made a good impression upon the entire Serbian population wherever he came in contact with it.
In perfect accord with the aroused conscience of the nation, the Bulgarian government appointed on 18th of December, 1918 a Commission at the Ministry of War to investigate all offences committed in the occupied territories during the war and to arraign the culprits.
The Bulgarian authorities did their utmost to protect the inhabitants from the activities of the revolutionary ringleaders, and even endeavoured to win over the rebels by kindness and persuasion, publishing to that effect a series of amnesties.

Slang’s biggest weapon though is guitarist Peter Glavanov.
A track like “Flash Of Light” (again, yeah, I know—remember: Bulgarian) recalls everyone from Duran Duran to Tower of Power, and is also the one I would most expect to hear on the radio, by no coincidence at all.
And if there’s little chance Slang will be remembered into the next decade, there is more to them than meets the eye.

Russian language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The basic vocabulary, principles of word-formation, and, to some extent, inflexions and literary style of Russian have been heavily influenced by Church Slavonic, a developed and partly adopted form of the South Slavic Old Church Slavonic language used by the Russian Orthodox Church.
Many words in modern literary Russian are closer in form to the modern Bulgarian language than to Ukrainian or Belarusian.
However, the East Slavic forms have tended to remain in the various dialects that are experiencing a rapid decline.
