Additionally, game shows had not waned in their ability to pull in good ratings - particularly as a way of "warming up" the audience for programmes later in the evening.
Since the content of such programmes is frequently non-dependent on the area in which the show is broadcast, this is still something of an anomaly for the game show fan - but nevertheless a better situation than is currently endured in the USA where few programmes are syndicated.

Bullseye continues to be the most popular pub itBox game ever in the UK and has recorded a staggering 30 million game plays over the combined Inspired Broadcast Network, Games Warehouse and Gamesnet itBox network since it was launched in September.
There have been more than nine million plays registered to date since Bullseye was launched over the combined Inspired Broadcast Network, Games Warehouse and Gamesnet estates, helping it supercede the previous title-holder, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire as the chart topper, and at 50p play that means over £4.5m has gone into the cashbox.
Incredibly, Bullseye has been played twice as many times as the next best game, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, accounting for more than 20 per cent of the total games played on the itbox.
