Bullseye is a British game show first made by ATV and Central for ITV between 1981 and 1995, and hosted by Jim Bowen.
In the earlier years of the show (up to and including the 1984-85 series) the celebrity player was given a 60 head-start; between then and 1995, the charity segment was exclusive to professional dart players.
Bullseye was one of several game shows to be released as an interactive dvd game for Christmas 2005, although the game did not feature the voice of Jim Bowen, and 'Bully' was redesigned.

It is by far the best produced quiz show in british TV history and is also the only programme in which the contestants try and win prizes which they are never likely to use e.g.
The best part of the show was when the couple lost and Jim Bowen always said look at what you could have won, really rubbing the salt in the wounds.

After an interlude where a professional darts player tries to throw for money for a charity, the highest scoring team went through to Bully's Prize Board, another specially constructed dart board containing eight quite narrow red segments (which claimed prizes), quite large fl segments (which did nothing) and a fairly large bullseye.
It was often painful to see the non-dart player score 97 with some jammy shots, only for the supposed "dart player" to try to hit 20 but hit 1 three times instead and thereby lose.
By the end of its run, the show was getting 12,000 applications a year and there was a five year waiting list just to sit in the audience!

What I Liked: I wasn’t old enough to play in a casino when this show ran, so this sort of game show, with the variety of card and dice games, was the next best thing.
In the bonus round, the contestant sometimes had to cope with a malfunctioning light pen (at least when Narz was host) trying to beat the timer.
I sent a postcard to the show when my family was planning a trip to San Francisco, but was told there would be no tapings in the summer.
