according to the German Federal Archive, all seven vessels were sold in November 1957, taken over by the Bundesmarine after about one and a half years of refit in the UK, and eventually commissioned roughly a month later.
If they had been sold only in mid-1959, they wouldn't have been in service before 1961 or 1962 - keep in mind the first vessels were already being decommissioned in 1964.
