		Bunkpurugu (N/R), Dec. 17, GNA - Inadequate provision of basic infrastructure and social amenities in the newly created Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District is causing social and economic disorders in the area, the Ghana News Agency (GNA) has learnt.
		A visit to the district capital, Bunkpurugu by the GNA found out that as a result of the inadequacies in development, government workers were refusing to take transfer to the district while private individuals were also declining to establish businesses there.
		She appealed to the National Executives of the NPP to come down to Bunkpurugu to unite the two factions to work together for the development of the Party and the district.

		Bunkpurugu (N/R), July 12, GNA - Mr Clifford Abdallah Braimah, Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP on Wednesday called on Ghanaians to continue to support the government to complete its development agenda to further promote the prevailing democracy in the country.
		Mr Braimah made the call at Bunkpurugu in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District on Wednesday during the party's constituency executive elections to choose members, who would work to retain the party in power in 2008.
		He advised all sympathizers of the party to eschew pity squabbles as it was prevailing in other parties and work collectively for the interest of the party.

		Kankpung Jinjir of Bunkpurugu, who was working in his garden, said, "I would never use chemical fertiliser again even if it were offered to me free of charge." Kankpung had the dreadful experience of harvesting very little when he used no fertiliser on his farm, after four years of its use.
		Kwabena Lambon, also of Bunkpurugu stopped using chemical fertiliser three years ago because it was too expensive.
		From visiting farms in Najong and Bunkpurugu, this appeared to be common practice, even among farmers who had not gone strictly organic.

		We will be joined in Ghana by a number of churches and brethren who will work with us in preaching the gospel, conducting the seminars and assisting in conducting the mobile clinic in Bunkpurugu.
		It is a hard 12 hr trip from Tema on the coast to Yendi in the Northern Region.
		We will also be visiting a few of the local chiefs to check on acquiring some property for the church and followup on some work that we have been doing to help various communities get well drilled.

		(B/A), Nov 2, GNA - Mr John Biaka-Feigben, Branch Chairman of Bunkpurugu Union of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), has called on the security services to intensify their night patrols along the Kintampo-Tamale and Walewale-Gambaga-Bunkpurugu highways which had recorded serious robbery cases in recent times.
		Mr Biaka-Feigben cited series of attacks by armed men operating in the area saying they often hit between 2300 hours and 0200 hours, posing threats to passengers and other travellers.
		Namitey Laar, also confirmed that there had been cases of robbery on the roads and asked passengers to patronize buses instead of joining cargo trucks.

	Bimoba Literacy Farmers Cooperative Union (BILFACU) Project in Ghana
		BILFACU's mandate is to mobilize the communities of the Bunkpurugu Area for development through activities grouped under four main programming areas: literacy, women in development, agriculture, and cooperatives.
		The main thrust of the first phase (1988 to 1991) was to assist the organization to strengthen its management and to help establish an agricultural station in Bunkpurugu.
		The project was carried out in the Bunkpurugu Area, a region divided into 13 zones and 60 villages, each of which has a development committee.

		Lawrence Mumuni, a Medical Assistant in charge of the Centre, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bunkpurugu.
		He attributed the rising malaria cases to farming behind houses that served as breeding grounds for mosquitoes during the rainy season.
