Burette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A burette (also buret) is a vertical cylindrical piece of laboratory glassware with a volumetric graduation on its full length and a precision tap, or stopcock, on the bottom.
When reading a burette, the viewer's eyes must be at the level of the graduation to avoid parallax error.
Due to the precision of the burette, even a single drop of liquid hanging from the bottom of a burette should be transferred to the receiving flask, usually by touching the drop to the side of the receiving flask and washing into the solution with the experimental solvent (usually water).

The medical burette of claim 23 wherein the positioning device further comprises a spring-loaded aligning device located on one of the cam or the housing and the detent is located on the other of the cam or the housing.
Burette chambers also typically have an upstream vent conduit through which air in the burette chamber may be vented to the outside as the chamber is filled with fluid from the supply source.
The burette further comprises indicators at an exterior surface of the housing, the indicators adapted to signal a state of fluid flow of the burette.

Titration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A reagent, called the titrant, of known concentration (standard_solution) and volume is used to react with a measured volume of reactant.
Using a calibrated burette to add the titrant, it is possible to determine the exact amount that has been consumed when the endpoint is reached.
Turn the tap of the burette to allow the titrant to slowly fall into the reactant.

Administration set including burette with pivotable air valve - Patent 4332247
The burettes typically include a burette chamber with a primary liquid inlet to the chamber and also an injection site communicating with the chamber for injecting medicament into the chamber so that, for example, the medicament may be diluted with the primary liquid.
When the burette is being filled with liquid or medicament is being injected into the burette for dilution with the liquid, communication of the burette chamber with the air outside the chamber is necessary.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an administration set having a burette which obviates the requirement for an air tube extending from the burette chamber with a clamp between the air filter and the burette chamber.

The invention relates to a digital burette having a manual drive for suctioning and applying an adjustable dose volume, a gear unit connected downstream and a digital display device controlled thereby for setting the dose volume.
The control comprises an incremental encoder which is functionally connected to the gear unit, at least one sensor for detecting the signals produced by the incremental encoder and a processor connected to the sensor and the display device for calculating the dose volume corresponding to the number of signals.
To save energy, the power supply of the burette is ensured by a solar cell and two spaced sensors are provided for detecting the number of turns of the sector disc to reduce the clock frequency of the processor for a same measuring accuracy.
