The history of the island is linked to monks who enjoyed the peace and tranquility of Burgh and were known to have brewed mead and supplemented their diet with the locally caught pilchards.

August 11th 2002: I have learnt that I will be visiting Caldey Island, off Tenby in South Wales, in the next few weeks.
August 14th 2002: Users may be interested to know that through Addme (a free website promotion engine, see their ad near the bottom of the page), the Islands of Britain website has been submitted to several major search engines such as Google, All the Web and Scrub the Web amongst others.
