 Ilya Bolotowsky
When Gertrude Greene mentioned that Burgoyne Diller was heading up a WPA mural project that would use abstract artists, Bolotowsky submitted sketches.
Diller arranged Bolotowsky's transfer from the WPA teaching project, and Bolotowsky set to work on a mural design for the Williamsburg housing project, whose architect, William Lescaze, was sympathetic to abstraction.
In his abstract compositions of the mid 1930s, Bolotowsky gave free rein to a variety of stylistic approaches.

Art/Auctions: Lee Krasner at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Des Moines Art Center, the Akron Art Museum and the Brooklyn Museum of Art, 1999-2001
Burgoyne Diller, the head of the WPA mural division in New York City, asked Krasner to do a mural for Sound Studio A at radio Station WNYC in the Municipal Building straddling Chambers Street.
After a hiatus of four years, she returned to school in 1937, attended Hans Hofmann's School of Fine Arts for several years, continuing even as late as 1940 to give it as a reference whenever the WPA periodically needed to verify her occupation as a practicing artist.
His three-step understanding of this process depended on, first, a comprehension of nature's laws, second, the artist's empathy for both nature and a chosen artistic medium, and third, the ability of an artist to translate his or her inner world into a medium, being careful to acknoledge both its limitations and its strengths.

Constructivism // synopsis :: Graham Potter Constructivist
Charles Biederman and Burgoyne Diller were among the first truly non-objective American artists and were both adherents of Neo Plasticism.
The principles of constructivism theory are derived from three main movements that evolved in the early part of the 20th century: Suprematism in Russia, De Stijl (Neo Plasticism) in Holland and the Bauhaus in Germany.
Influenced by Bart Van der Leck he moved from subject-based abstraction to establish the strictly horizontal / vertical format that became known as Neo Plasticism, the visual vocabulary of De Stijl.

 Abstract Art
Since I am color blind to some pastel colors and have great difficulty mixing colors; his work really appeals to me. I also enjoy a lot of Burgoyne Diller's work because it reminds me of the teachings of Neoplasticism created by Mondrain and his peers.
I have particularly liked the work of Piet Mondrian because he used only primary colors.
