Burlington is the home of the Burlington Bees baseball team, a class A member of the Midwest League.

BURLINGTON, Iowa -- CNH Global late Monday rejected a United Auto Workers union offer to return to work at four of the company's plants in the Midwest, saying it would not best serve the interests of the company, its customers and dealers.
About 225 workers at the Burlington plant, which makes backhoes, forklifts and loader/landscapers, and workers at the other Midwest plants walked off the job Nov. 3.
A telephone recording at UAW Local 807 in Burlington said the union had called a recess to the strike.

Doty, of Burlington, Iowa, was hospitalized after his car flipped several times Sunday coming out of the 1/3-mile dirt track's fourth turn in the 12th lap of the 25-lap feature race.
He was flown by helicopter to the Madison hospital, where doctors performed surgery on Monday to reduce swelling on his brain.
