Burnham Beeches publishes two newsletters per year which are available from the Burnham Beeches Office, Information Unit and site cafés OR you can be environmentally friendly and download a copy from the link below.
On 25th June 2006 the Burnham Beeches Dog Code was launched with the aim of promoting responsible dog walking at our National Nature Reserve and as part of this launch we have produced a new information sheet for dog walkers.
The plan was produced by the Burnham Beeches team and involved a large consultation exercise with visiting members of the public.

Burnham Abbey, founded in 1266 by Richard, Earl of Cornwall (King John's second son) stands south of the main Bath Road and is closer to Dorney Village than to Burnham.

I spotted one or two other 'adventurers' braving the drizzle that had accompanied the day but otherwise I had the place almost exclusively to myself...until I reached the road where a string of cars lined the side of the road outside a snack bar.
Burnham Beeches is a short walk from Farnham common but there is plenty of parking on the edge of the woods.
Dotted with old pollarded beech trees said to be around 450 years old the atmosphere is haunting accentuated by the lonely crow (the only bird I saw for about an hour) that called me into this otherworld.

Tight Fit Theatre were asked by the South Bucks District Council to produce the entertainment elements of On Location at Burnham Beeches, a guided walk which took place during the evening of 1st August 1996 to celebrate the centenary of the cinema.
An audience of over 300, in groups, were led by the Beeches' wardens round a circular, one-and-a-quarter hour walk which paused at each location to learn what was filmed there and, in most cases, see a re-enactment.
It may be of interest to note that Burnham Beeches impose restrictions on how things may be attached to the trees.

On Saturday 30th October, the Rotary Club of Burnham Beeches organised two sponsored walks in the Burnham Beeches, with half of all proceeds to be donated to the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.
James Watts, event organiser, estimates that the walks will have raised £4,000 to be split between IRHH and the Club's work with young people.
Approximately 140 people chose between an 8 mile sponsored walk, through the Beeches and into the varied countryside of woods and fields beyond, and a 1.5 mile walk within the Beeches themselves, on paths suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
