Burnout Legends Hands-On - PSP News at GameSpot
It wasn't until the third game (the outstanding Burnout 3: Takedown) that the series came into its own as a true force to be reckoned with in the racing genre.
With the release of the PSP game Burnout Legends, the first appearance of the series on a handheld, developer Criterion Games is taking a look back at the history of the Burnout series and featuring modes from all three prior games.
Other Burnout 3 touches in the game will be in the inclusion of a variety of both wall takedowns and aftertouch takedowns, aggressive driving bonuses, and of course, the need to avoid oncoming traffic.

By introducing such aspects to the game, it adds a nice change in the games flow and keeps the monotony of standard arcade racing to a minimum.
Burnout 2 has all the qualities of a top notch racing game, and allows for the imagination of crazed road rage to be taken out safely in the confines of your own home.

Burnout 3 - Takedown was the first Burnout game I had ever played; in fact, my friends had hyped up it's release so much, we made it a point to get it the week it came out.
I found myself buying used copies of Burnout and Burnout 2, both of which proved to be good but (not surprisingly) not as good as Takedown.
Basically, the idea behind Burnout is to drive cars--varying from little rally style cars to sweet sports cars to trucks and vans--and cause a phenomenal amount of destruction while part of some kind of competition (or not, if you count the new Traffic Mode or Crash mode).

One of the most anticipated games for the PSP; Burnout Legends is a greatest hits re-mix of the first three Burnout games, all of which originally appeared on the PlayStation 2.

Burnout Legends is a very good game, but minor issues, and lack of new material make the game fall just short of the high expectations that surround it.
