Bury is a town on the northern side of Greater Manchester in North West England, between Rochdale and Bolton and just west of the M66.
Formerly in the county of Lancashire, it merged with the neighbouring boroughs of Radcliffe and Prestwich, together with the urban districts of Whitefield, Tottington and Ramsbottom to become the Metropolitan Borough of Bury in 1974.
Bury is known for its fl pudding – so much so, that it is not uncommon to see it as "Bury fl pudding" on a menu.

At the begining of the 19th century there were stage coach services to Manchester leaving Bury at 7 o'clock in the morning on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and at 7.30 in the morning on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
