	Bussum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Bussum is a municipality and a town in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland.
		Since Bussum is situated near the fortified town Naarden, it was governed by Naarden from 1369 onward.
		Bussum became independent from Naarden in 1817, yet it was not until the arrival of a railway line in 1874 that Bussum began to flourish.

		The steamship Bussum, a 3683 gross ton freighter, was built in 1917 at Capelle-am-Ysel, The Netherlands, for commercial employment under the Dutch flag.
		Though commissioned later in that month as Bussum (ID # 2468), she retained a civilian crew during her only voyage under Navy auspices, a trip to Puerto Rico between late March and mid-May. She was then decommissioned and returned to the U.S. Shipping Board, which operated her during the next year.
		On 19 July 1918 SS Bussum was one of three merchantmen which rescued survivors of the armored cruiser San Diego, which had been sunk off Fire Island, New York.

		I knew I would get lost in Het Spiegel ("the mirror", Bussum's west side, and in fact the other side of the railroad tracks).

		The Chesham Octopush Touring and Drinking Club continued its overseas ventures with a jaunt to the annual G.O.V. tournament in Bussum, near Amsterdam.
