 KN@PPSTER: But seriously, folks
Among the useful inputs this time were some comments that made it clear I need to discuss the concept of the "serious candidate" in the context of Libertarian Party campaigns.
A "serious" candidate is willing to set goals, figure out what it will take to possibly accomplish those goals, and do those things.
A serious candidate may or may not run "full-time" -- taking a sabbatical from the day job or whatever -- but he or she will evaluate the time commitment required to achieve the campaign's goals, make that commitment and deliver on it.

Joe Walsh : But Seriously Folks - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
As far as studio albums go, But Seriously Folks is Joe Walsh's most insightful and melodic.
But Seriously Folks, released in 1978, was the album the Eagles should have made rather than the mediocre The Long Run.
The only way But Seriously Folks could have been improved, was to include "In the City," essentially solo Walsh, which unfortunately ended up on The Long Run instead.

IT'S DIFFICULT to imagine any American of any age who has not heard the phrase "But seriously, folks." Of course, it's also difficult to imagine any American of any age who doesn't want to personally blow the head off of every prisoner in Guantanamo, but never mind that now.
It's an ironic phrase, though, because after telling what was (hopefully) a terrific joke, the comic who said, "But seriously, folks," was disclaiming himself, in effect saying to his audience, "Gee, I'm sorry I had to momentarily mislead you with such pointless frivolity.
But, you see in all of American life there has, for a long time, been a battle of sorts to define what is serious and what is not, and all the wrong people are consistently winning.

Stop acting like the Nintendo Fun Club and start taking seriously the discipline of game development, and how the products of that discipline can uniquely affect us.
Rather, the press ought to start reflecting on games-as-experiences, start doing serious editorials, and loosen up a little on the word limits so their writers can say what they want to say.
