Georgia-born Butch Walker is a 35-year old singer and songwriter who started his career as the frontman for Atlanta's Marvelous 3.

 Ink 19 :: Butch Walker
Butch Walker has been the producer of the moment for the past couple of years, having produced tracks for Avril Lavigne, American Hi-Fi and Sevendust, among others.
Walker brilliantly illustrates how devastating an abusive relationship can be: "The last letter said/That she had to get out/But I couldn't make out the rest of the note/From the blood stains all over the page of the letters." It is one of the most haunting songs I have ever heard.
Walker still has his producing and songwriting abilities to fall back on, which is nothing to balk at.

 Pollstar -- HotStar Butch Walker
Walker was in the Marvelous 3, which was featured in Pollstar in '99.
Walker took a break from 12 years of touring and built a career in the studio, getting a lot of his coin as a producer - especially for Avril Lavigne and writing her single "My Happy Ending." He's also grabbed credit for albums by Simple Plan, The Donnas, and American Hi-Fi, among others.
Walker has a fan base - enough to catch MVO Ltd. agent Marsha Vlasic's attention when she saw him at a sold-out Bowery Ballroom in NYC.

Butch is an amazing songwriter and performer, and has pretty much established himself as one of the most sought after producers out there.
I mean, he knows how to write, and the only thing I can say about Butch Walker is that I wish I were like a tenth of the performer that he was… or that he is. Because he can just control an audience like they're in the palm of his hand.
For Butch Walker, the ability to create universal and beautiful songs seems to comes naturally; masterpieces flow through him like the blood pumping through his veins.

Butch Walker - Biography - AOL Music
After a brief taste of major-label success with his former band Marvelous 3 during the late '90s, Butch Walker traded his bandmates for a solo career and made his second bid for rock & roll success in the early 2000s, doing a lot of production work on the side.
The album tells tales of drugged-out starlets, struggling wannabes, late nights, and wild parties in L.A. and was Walker's most fully realized album to date.

I was caught off guard by this record released it 2004 by Butch Walker, since it is much slower, softer, and acoustic than he usually is. From Southgang to The Marvelous 3 and even his first solo Left of self-centered, Butch continued to have a more rock edge sound to him.

Where Butch's last solo record "Letters" was akin to the seventies singer-songwriter movement, "The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and the Let's Go Tonites" is a pop glam record.
And Butch's backing band, the The Let's Go Out Tonites don't necessarily add a lot to the songs, but they play with energy and a looseness that was lacking from the last two Butch Walker solo records.
If you get the chance to see Butch in concert this year, and he sits down at the piano to tell the story, I am willing to bet of those who are true Walker fans, there will not be a dry eye in the house.

Walker's latest work is an addictively catchy piece of pop rock so indebted to glam-rock, it's anointed with the “Ziggy”-era title “The Rise and Fall of Butch Walker and The Let's Go Out Tonites.”
Walker opted for the cheeky flash of glam as an antidote to the mopey rock he believes corrodes the current scene.
Walker's joy shows not only in the rousing glitter riffs, but in the album's clever lyrical odes to nightclubbing, lost girls and L.A. decadence.

Butch Walker may just be the busiest man in the music industry.
Or you might remember Walker from his band Marvelous 3 and their hit “Freak of the Week” in 1999.
On “Lights Out,” you’ll be bobbing your head and singing “Hell yeah!” along with Walker, but then he’ll show you a completely different side with “Joan,” “Promise” and “Thank-You Note.” On these, Walker strips the songs down completely to a voice and carefully plucked acoustic guitar or piano.

Walker, 36, has toured with rock band American Hi-Fi backing him, and he has written and produced music for Avril Lavigne, Pink, Bowling for Soup and others, but he hasn't had a band of his own since M3 disbanded in 2001.
Walker knows what it's like to go to a show and want to hear the band's old stuff, so he and TLGOT do play a couple of M3 songs that he feels they execute well, Walker said.

BUTCH really tried to kick it into high gear but it just seemed, at times, that his band just couldn’t keep up.
It had that typical BUTCH WALKER feel to it with the heavy acoustic guitar, well thought lyrics and tasteful composition and left me looking forward to the release of his next album.
And we hung out for a while afterwards in hopes of catching Butch as he left the venue so there can’t be any excuse of “zoning laws” in the area because they were blasting that crap for the next 45 minutes at least!
