  Biographies - Town of Lisbon, Waukesha County, Wisconsin
Butler is one of as successful farmers as there is in Waukesha County; he owns 250 acres of land, all well improved and finely located, containing almost every natural advantage.
In 1857, he was a member of the Wisconsin Assembly, and was, for a period of over thirteen years, a County Superintendent of the Poor, and for several years a member of the Town and County Boards of Supervisors; all of those offices he filled with credit to himself and satisfaction to his constituents.
In October, 1845, he married, in the town of Merton, Waukesha Co., Wis., Amy M. Allen; she was born in Conneaut, Ohio; came to Wisconsin in 1843, and died in the town of Lisbon, in 1870, aged 48 years.

TIMOTHY C. is a native of Wisconsin, a member of one of the pioneer families of Richland county, one of the prominent farmers of the town of Henrietta and is at the present time a member of the board of supervisors of the county, being a popular and influential citizen of his township.
He was born in Waukesha county; Wis., Nov. 17, 1849, and is a son of Charles and Catherine (Muldoon) Shields, both of whom were born and reared in County Roscommon, Ireland, where their marriage was solemnized in 1838.
