The Buttery is committed to assisting chemically dependent people realise a sense of self worth, to nurture the living skills that we take for granted and to help them take their place in society with the knowledge that they can choose paths that are not only fulfilling to themselves but to society as well.
Any financial support that you can commit to The Buttery would be much appreciated by both the Board of Management and the residents of The Buttery community.
By making a donation to The Buttery you will help to reduce that sense of isolation and alienation that most drug dependent people experience and assist these people regain a meaningful and productive place in society.

A buttery, also known as a rowie or Aberdeen roll, is a savoury Scottish bread roll.
As the alternate name of Aberdeen roll suggests, butteries are a speciality of Aberdeen but they are actually common throughout the North East of Scotland and can be found in Elgin.
They were created in the 1880s, to provide the growing Aberdeen fishing industry a type of high-fat roll which would keep for longer periods at sea than conventional rolls.
