The county of Buzau is located in the south-east of Romania, between 44°44’ and 45°49’ N Lat.
The county of Buzau, belonging historically and geographically to Muntenia (Wallachia), is located in fact at the cross-roads of four major Romanian provinces: Transylvania, Moldavia, Muntenia and Dobrogea, which has been highly consequential for both the history and the economic development of the area.
In the Buzau county the lakes are an interesting point of tourist attraction: Joseni, Policiori Lakes, situated on the Grabicina Valley; the Melediu Lake at Odaile; the Amara and Balta Alba lakes known for their therapeutically mud.

 BUZĂU COUNTY
Buzau County is situated in the S-E of Romania, between 44 44’- 45 49’northern latitude and 26 04’-27 26’ eastern longitude.
Its neighbours are the counties of Brasov and Covasna in the N-W, Vrancea in the N-E, Braila in the E, Ialomita in the S and Prahova in the W.
Buzau County combines harmoniously all the relief forms: in the North, one can see the Mountains of Buzau; in the South there is the plain, part of the Romanian Plain, and in the centre, there is a region of hills with orchards.

The county of Buzau has about 500,000 inhabitants and the police forces count approximately 900 police officers, 750 of which work directly with the population (that is, about one police officer for over 730 inhabitants.
Similar to other police inspectorates, IPJ Buzau interprets and enforces incorrectly the Law on Police with regard to the category of persons that can be led to the police station.
The doctor looks after both detainees and staff members of the county and municipal police, while the medical assistant looks exclusively after the lockup.

Situated in the Carpathians, between Buzau and Brasov, the Muddy Volcanoes are large (“Paclele Mari”) or small (“Paclele Mici”) craters in the yellow argillaceous soil of the area through which, under the pressure of subterraneous gases, cold muddy eruptions come to the surface.
This fl mud originates from rain water that penetrates the soil all the way down to the oil deposits.
