| | Guardian | Ryanair snaps up rival airline Buzz |
 | | Ryanair, the Irish discount airline, today announced it was buying Buzz for 23.9m euros (£15.6m), in a move that shrinks the market to just two rivals. |
 | | Buzz currently operates 21 routes from Stansted, Ryanair's main UK base, to Germany, Holland, France and Spain, as well as two French domestic routes, while Ryanair flies 49 routes out of Stansted. |
 | | As Buzz would have more than £11m of cash, the net cost of the deal would be less than £3m, he said, adding that as the purchase would be funded from existing cash deposits, the cost would be "nominal". |
