  The Highland CouncilEmployment Of Children Byelaws   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-14)
These Byelaws may be cited as The Highland Council Byelaws on the Employment of Children 1999 and shall come into force one month after confirmation by The Scottish Ministers or on such other date as they may determine.
Subject to the other provisions of these byelaws, children may be employed for up to one hour before the commencement of school hours on any day on which they are required to attend school.
The Byelaws with respect to the employment of children (and street trading) made by Highland Regional Council on the Thirteenth day of September 1979 and confirmed by the Secretary of State with modifications on the Twenty-fifth day of June 1980 are hereby revoked.

 Broads Authority-Boating
Byelaw 7 provides that the master of a vessel must permit officers of or persons authorised by the Authority to board, enter and inspect the vessel for the purposes of establishing whether the vessel complies with the boat standards.
This Byelaw also provides that it is a defence in any criminal proceedings under the Byelaw for the person charged to prove that they took all reasonable caution and exercised due diligence to avoid the commission of the offence or that they had a reasonable excuse for the act or failure to act.
Byelaw 15 provides that the boat standards to be incorporated in the Schedule to the Byelaws may be amended by resolution of the Authority in any case where that amendment has the effect of incorporating any relevant EU requirements or English Law.

 Fisheries (Amendment No. 3) Byelaws (Northern Ireland) 2002
Byelaws 3 and 7 introduce a concessionary season fishing rod licence for disabled anglers, women who have attained the age of 60 years and men who have attained the age of 65 years, and a juvenile season fishing rod licence for persons who have attained the age of 12 years but not 19 years.
Byelaw 4 reduces from 18 years to 12 years, the age under which persons are exempted from the requirement to hold a fishing rod licence.
Byelaw 6 replaces the requirement for any person who takes a salmon in Lough Melvin during the period from 1st February to 31st May to return it immediately to the water without avoidable injury with a requirement to return to the water any salmon taken in excess of one on any day during that period.

Byelaws prohibiting public drinking in designated places - which have been effective in tackling drink-related nuisance - are to be introduced throughout the City of Dundee.
Following a successful experiment in the use of byelaws to prohibit drinking in designated parts of Galashiels, Motherwell and Dundee, other local authorities were invited in 1993 to submit proposals for similar byelaws.
All such byelaws must be confirmed by the Secretary of State, and 23 byelaws, covering over 350 towns and villages, are already in place across Scotland.

 CAISTOR TOWN COUNCIL
Byelaws made by the Caistor Town Council under section 164 of the Public Health Act 1875, section 15 of the Open Spaces Act 1906 and sections 12 and 15 of the Open Spaces Act 1906 with respect to pleasure grounds, public walks and open spaces.
Byelaw 10 (1) shall not prevent the lighting or use of a properly constructed camping stove or cooker or barbecue in any area set aside for the purpose, in such a manner as not to cause danger of or damage by fire.
This byelaw shall not apply to any person who is bona fide in charge of a child under the age of 14 years.

 S.I. No. 38/1955: THE CONVEYANCE OF EXPLOSIVES BYELAWS, 1955.
Provided that if the explosive consists only of articles incapable of communicating explosion from one to another, such as fuzes for shell, tubes, primers and quick firing ammunition up to 3-inch calibre, the quantity of explosive that may be conveyed in any one carriage may exceed 2,000 lb.
Nothing in this byelaw shall apply to any explosive of the 1st Division of the 6th (Ammunition) class, provided all due precautions are taken for the prevention of accidents.
Wherever in these byelaws an explosive is distinguished as belonging to a particular class or division of a class, reference is made to the classification of explosives contained in an Order made in pursuance of section 106 of the Act.

These Byelaws shall be applicable to the inland water's of Loch Lomond and the navigable rivers within the Loch Lomond Park, all as shown delineated in red on the plan annexed and executed as relative thereto.

Lindis has challenged the validity of byelaws three times since 1987 because of being arrested, detained, dearrested, 'reported with a view to prosecution' and occasionally charged under the byelaws round the country.
Her intention on this day was to deliberately break the law (byelaws at RAF Fylingdales) so that a case could come to court and a challenge to the validity of the byelaws be brought.
When met by a Ministry of Defence Police Agency (MDPA) officer on the 'restricted area' covered by the byelaws Lindis immediately said that she was in breach of the law applicable to the byelaws.

Lindis Percy and Anni Rainbow were all set to challenge the byelaws in 1997 (subsequently taken on by Anne Lee and Helen John) and have new arguements to advance since the second challenge to the validity of the byelaws at Menwith Hill.
She again removed a byelaws sign having (as always) informed the MDP that she had done so adding that she had no intention to keep it and it would be returned once the MDP upheld and enforced the law at MHS.

For the purposes of enforcing Byelaws the weight of shellfish gathered from any fishery shall be determined by weighing the same in sacks and no allowance shall be made in respect of the weight of the sacks (whether wet or dry) nor of any sand or other materials present.

 Britsh Rail Board Railway Byelaws
Any person offending against this Byelaw shall be liable to the Board for the amount of the damage done to any property of the Board, without prejudice to any penalty incurred by the contravention of this Byelaw.
Provided that no person shall be subject to any penalty under this Byelaw unless it be proved to the satisfaction of the Court before whom complaint is laid that a public notice was exhibited at that place specifying the charges payable for parking thereat.

The original Byelaws 2(1) and 2(2) were repealed and the present Byelaws.2(1) and 2(2) substituted in their place by further Byelaws made by the Board on 14th August 1981, confirmed by the Secretary of State for Transport on 16th November 1981 and which came into operation on 30th November 1981.
