On the eastern border of Byron is the Byron Gravel Pit, the sixteenth-largest gravel pit in Canada.

Ann Cavoukian, Ontario's Information and Privacy Commissioner, has been working with the government on the smart card and says she is satisfied it protects the privacy rights of citizens.
Ontario plans to let users determine what information is added to their cards.

Over fifty scientific papers have been published on aspects of the natural history of Byron Bog (Judd, 1966,1969), [Hanna 1984] The bog includes aspects of all four wetland types in the province (bog, fen, swamp and marsh) and is particularly well known for its low shrub poor fen and Black Spruce swamp communities.
The area consists of a large, forested central lowland/wetland surrounded by moderately steep forested slopes to the east and south, and by low slopes from adjacent residential properties to the north and west.

Byron might also have something to hold against me if he caught me doing something bad then he could tell Momma and Dad about what I did because I told them what he did.

This year's trip was a 2 1/2 week expedition to Northern Ontario, with the main objective the Ontario Northland Railway.
Unlike all other previous trips to Northern Ontario that I have made since moving here 20+ years ago, the Algoma Central would be low on the priority list, simply because there is little to nothing left of the ACR as I knew it when working there over twenty years ago.
The next day was sunny, but Byron Hill was dead for about 5 hours, but then we got a few trains with good light.
