 Sherpa: Regression Test Procedures
Sherpa is an interactive application; users type in commands at the command line, and Sherpa functions are executed in response.
Sherpa normally sends much of its output to stdout (e.g., the "fit" command by default displays the fit statistic at the end of each iteration, and the best-fit values of the thawed parameters upon completion; and, the options to the "show" command print out much information, and so on).
Later, after more Sherpa development, one wishes to test that changes introduced into the code do not change the output for these test scripts; so the output from one's "development" version of Sherpa can be compared to output from the last "approved" version.
