On November 16, 2004, CASCAR announced it had entered a multi-year operational and marketing agreement with NASCAR [1], after NASCAR had formed NASCAR Canada earlier in the year.
However, as in NASCAR, CASCAR cars' engines are normally-aspirated, pushrod V8 units producing approximately 500 horsepower.
Present CASCAR events are held exclusively on short track ovals, permanent road courses, temporary road courses and street courses.

CASCAR lost its flagship track, Delaware Speedway, this past season when it switched sanctioning to NASCAR and the Dodge Weekly Series.
CASCAR has survived rocky times, but Novotny has managed to keep the 12-event Super Series running.

Saskatoon, SK: With the conclusion of the August 19th CASCAR FLO~PRO Western Series event in Wetaskiwin, the Van Domselaar Motorsports team had stabled their #14 SouthFort Chevrolet, Mac’s Convenience Stores, Dewar Western Monte Carlo for another year.
The VMS contingent was smaller than usual for the Canadian Forces/Affinity Credit Union 200, but several extended family members of the CASCAR Western Series lent a hand over the weekend, helping out with pit crew and spotting duties.
