Children's BBC and its contraction, CBBC, is the brand for the BBC's children's television output aimed at children over six, across BBC One, BBC Two and the CBBC Channel.
The new controller of CBBC is Richard Deverell who was appointed in February 2006, the job effectively split in two with Anne Gilchrist as Creative Director, CBBC to oversee the creative side of things.
CBBC will be aimed at 7-16 year olds, and older kids will have a broadband based service.

The CBBC Channel is a British television service aimed at 6 to 14 year olds produced by the BBC.
It complements the CBBC programming that continues to air on BBC One and BBC Two.
Launched on 11 February 2002 it broadcasts from 7AM to 7PM on Freeview, cable and digital satellite, occupying the same bandwidth as, but a different channel position from, BBC Three.

CBBC Proms In The Park is live on the CBBC Channel on Sunday 14 September from 2.30pm.
The CBBC channel is televising the Junior Great North Run live for the second year and putting on another fantastic party from the Gateshead Stadium that will also be shown on the channel.
CBBC presenters will be on the course throughout the day with words of encouragement to keep the competitors going and get them to the finish line!
