  CBBC Channel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The CBBC Channel is a British television service aimed at 6 to 13 year olds produced by the BBC.
It complements the CBBC programming that continues to air on BBC One and BBC Two.
Launched on 11 February 2002 it broadcasts from 0700 to 1900 on Freeview, cable and digital satellite, occupying the same bandwidth as, but a different channel position from, BBC Three.

BBC Parliament is a British television channel from the BBC.
The reason CBBC on BBC Choice has a DOG is that it appears to have been hurriedly put on to this channel in the interim between the new channel's approval.
Now it's interesting that CBBC on Choice has a standard BBC Choice dog, abliet with different URL (when they can be bothered to get it right), and that The Saturday Show didn't follow in the footsteps of Live and Kicking and have it's own dog so this may be a good sign.

The channel is on-air from 19:00 to 04:00 each night, in order to share terrestrial digital bandwidth with the CBBC channel.
At 33, Murphy is the youngest channel controller in the country, a title he has held since launching UK Play at the age of 26, although on October 20 2005 it was announced that Murphy was soon to leave the channel to work in the independent sector.
The output of the channel has been criticised by Private Eye, which argued that the £90m set up of the channel was too costly and driven by consultants and too much of the schedule is taken up with the celebrity filler items and spin-offs of unpopular programmes such as Fame Academy.

Its called the CBBC Access System and the aim is to encourage more participation from children ranging from voting to giving us their ideas and comment.
CBBC transmitted As Seen on TV, children's stories, told by children, produced by CBBC between 1994 and 1998.
We asked the institutions we approached first to seek an interested (and police checked) adult who would act as the supporting adult for each group of children because a key feature of the project was the need for children always to have a responsible adult with them when they film, for health and safety purposes.

I think the CBBC channel is a good opportunity because you get to see the programmes that you can not see and it is fun to watch.
CBBC is the best channel ever I tape them all and watch them again and again and it's also the first channel I try to find when I get home from shcool.
The CBBC channel is rather good- especially Dick and Dom in the Bungalow- the level of sub-humour makes it hilarious.

With evidence such as this proposing that children should watch as little television as possible, the future of the BBC's CBBC Channel may now begin to appear less than certain despite the BBC's eagerness to turn the channel into a success.
There were probably compelling reasons for a CBBC channel to begin with such as providing a commercial-free environment for children that also helps to further justify the licence fee to both parents and children, but the 'licence fee justification' bit is probably lost on an bored eight year-old armed with a remote control.
And the "children's channel" EPG argument is lost when children regularly watch 'grown up' channels for other programmes such as Neighbours and The Simpsons.

CBM Media is persisting with plans to launch a channel on Freeview, according to this week's Broadcast magazine.
Now its owners are developing a new channel devoted entirely to sport in the hope of filling a void on the platform.
The channel, which has the working title "Freesport", could launch as soon as next year if a carriage deal is reached.

New kids station CBBC is to feature interactive programming as part of its schedule, Digital Spy can report.
The channel, which launches alongside CBeebies on February 11, will utilise the Corporation's interactive capabilities to bring enhancements to it's programming lineup.

Nope - they could do that with CBeebies (but the BBC need permissing to alter the hours of their channels - and that would come under it) as the interactive feeds are on the same MUX (group of channels) but not CBBC.
From in CBBC Xtra text have a green button for video (not used at the moment) or an explanation of why it isn't available - perhaps show the green spot and text grey to make it clear.
Similaly like Communicty channel a description of a highlight for the channel could be shown on the screen.
