  CBC Newsworld - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CBC Newsworld is a Canadian 24-hour cable news television channel operated by the CBC.
Unlike the CBC's main television network, which is publicly funded by Canadian taxpayers, Newsworld's primary funding comes from cable subscriber fees, although both networks also accept commercial advertising.
CBC's supper hour newscast Canada Now and its primetime national newscast The National also air on CBC Newsworld.

TORONTO - Veteran CBC News correspondent David Halton is set to retire in June, after 40 years at the network.
Halton, who for more than a decade has been CBC's senior correspondent in Washington, will be replaced by Alison Smith, anchor of CBC News Morning.
Halton joined CBC News in 1965, becoming Paris-based correspondent for The National a year later.
