  The Cosmic Background Imager
The Cosmic Background Imager (CBI) is a special-purpose radio telescope designed to study the cosmic microwave background radiation from the early universe.
It is located at an altitude of 5080 m (16,700 feet) in the Chilean Andes at the Chajnantor Observatory.
The CBI Project is a collaboration between the California Institute of Technology, the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics, the University of Chicago, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, the Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie (Bonn), Oxford University, the University of Manchester, the Universidad de Chile, and the Universidad de Concepción.

On a tip-off, some 15 officials from the CBI's anti-corruption headquarters in New Delhi and conducted raid and detained the Deputy Inspector-General of CBI, Visakhapatnam, A. Sudhakar Rao, who was relieved of the post only on Wednesday, after his repatriation to Sikkim as DIG of armed battalion at Gangtok.
The CBI DIG, Sudhir Pratap Singh, who led the raids, said that on a specific complaint that the accused was repeatedly demanding money and threatening to implicate the complainant in a `false' case, they registered a regular case at 8 p.m.
In a press release issued here, the CBI alleged that during the searches, they found that the IPS officer was using the woman public prosecutor of the mahila court as a conduit for collecting bribe.

The Computational Biology Initiative (CBI) of the Department of Systems Biology is a new research and training program at Harvard Medical School (HMS) motivated by the challenges we currently face in interrogating data.
It is focused on two objectives, the first is to push the limits of computation in all areas of basic biology represented at HMS and the second is to disseminate computational approaches in biology to the research community by training programs, web-based tutorials, and direct consultations.
The CBI will contribute to HMS research by providing a unique platform of tools for data interrogation and the education necessary to help HMS biologists to maximize the use of this novel system.
