		CBLT is the flagship of the CBC English Network, being home to the studios of "The National", CBC Newsworld, and many other CBC News programs, such as The Fifth Estate, Venture, and CBC News Sunday.
		CBLT was Canada's second television station, signing on for the first time on September 8, 1952.
		CBLT has broadcasted on three different channels—when the station opened, it broadcasted on the channel currently used by CFTO, which is 9, then it broadcasted on channel 6 between 1956 and 1972, and then on channel 5 from that date on.

		CBLT originally broadcast on Channel 6 until the late 1960s, when it switched to its current VHF station, Channel 5 in order to allow two new stations (in Paris, Ontario and Deseronto, Ontario) to use the frequency.
		CBLT serves much of Ontario through a network of rebroadcast transmitters, including all of Northeastern Ontario and most of Western Ontario with the exception of Windsor.
		The station only served Southern Ontario until 2003, when it took over the CBC affiliates of the MCTV twinstick.
