		CCDs are used in digital photography and astronomy (particularly in photometry, optical and UV spectroscopy and high speed techniques such as lucky imaging).
		CCDs are typically sensitive to infrared light, which allows infrared photography, night-vision devices, and zero lux (or near zero lux) video-recording/photography.
		CCD cameras used in astronomy often require very sturdy mounts such as a Losmandy or Astrophysics mount to cope with various vibrations and breezes that can occur, along with the tremendous weight that most imaging platforms inherently cause.

		Trying to “rub” the filter clean (you tend to just move the dust around--once it is on the lint-free cloth, it can migrate back to the CCD if you use improper technique, such as not enough fluid, or rubbing motions; moreover, if you "rub" a really hard particle across the filter you can scratch it).
		That's not to scare you into thinking that if you leave your CCD exposed for five minutes that it'll produce poor color next time you use it; just that light accumulation to dye inks really should be minimized.

		Once the CCD is clean, I let the shutter close and reset the exposure mode to A. then take a photo of a wall, without a lens attached, and check my results.
