		As of the year 2004, major carriers in the United States are threatening to shut down CDPD service.

		As far as vehicle mounted CDPD, I would assume that you’d be using these with a GPS as a vehicle probe to keep track of your fleet.
		CDPD has always been nice in that it does cell handoffs well without breaking the comm session, which was a problem with the early versions of Metricom.

		I will expand the CDPD testing when Hixon Manufacturing puts up it's reference station here at their new store in Denver.
		I will continue exploring the CDPD performance in Denver as soon as there is a reference station up.
