CEE is used as an abbreviation for (the countries of) Central and Eastern Europe.
CEE was also an abbreviation used for the International Commission for Conformity Certification of Electrical Equipment, founded in 1946 and absorbed by the International Electrotechnical Commission in 1985.
CEE can also stand for the Center for Excellence in Education, founded by Hyman Rickover and Joann DiGennaro.

In early 1999 the terrestrial observing system launched its first regional initiative in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
The overall goal of the initiative is to identify terrestrial monitoring requirements of countries in the region; to improve access to data and information; and to strengthen the technical capacities for environmental assessment and monitoring.
GTOS aims to create an organized regional data infrastructure that makes in situ and satellite data accessible to the CEE community and beyond.
