- Pachuca CF became the first team to qualify to the 2007 CONCACAF Champions’ Cup™ by winning the 2006 Mexican First Division League’s Torneo de Clausura over Club San Luis 1:0 on aggregate on Sunday.
After the first-leg ended in a scoreless draw at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramírez in San Luis Potosi on 18 May, Richard Núñez scored the only goal of the second-leg for Pachuca CF in the 1:0 win over visiting Club San Luis at the Estadio Hidalgo in Pachuca, Hidalgo on Sunday.
Pachuca CF, who won the 2002 CONCACAF crown, will be making their fourth appearance at the Champions’ Cup™ in 2007 as they are joined by Mexican League’s Torneo de Apertura 2006 winner; two teams from the USA; three Central American clubs; and one Caribbean squad.
