  CFCN-TV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CFCN (also known as CTV Calgary) is a Canadian television station, broadcasting in Calgary, Alberta.
On May 16 1968, CFCN Television Ltd. was given approval for a television station at Lethbridge, operating on channel 13 with effective radiated power of 36,700 watts video and 7,340 watts audio.
On March 21 of that year, the transfer of 21,288 common shares of CFCN Television Ltd. to Maclean-Hunter Ltd. was approved.

CFCN’s employees and on- air personalities will be invited to visit classes as guest speakers, and may also be called upon to judge talent shows and science fairs, be guests at concerts and plays, and maybe even compete against students in recreational intramural contests!
Additionally, CFCN will be assisting the school as they host the Feed the Hungry in late February.
Both Father Lacombe and CFCN said they are excited about the partnership and the opportunities that exist.

CFCN broadcasts with 50,000 Watts, non-directional days, with a nighttime antenna pattern that favors the north, northwest and southwest.

The voice of the Prairies Ltd. (CFCN 1060) was denied a licence on May 28 for a new FM station at Calgary, operating on 102.1 MHz with effective radiated power of 28,000 watts.
On August 10, CFCN Communications Ltd. was given approval to purchase CJAY-FM-3 Invermere (a rebroadcaster of CJAY Calgary), from Invermere District Television Co. Ltd.
On November 26, CJAY was given approval to decrease effective radiated power from 74,000 to 44,000 watts and to increase effective antenna height from 146.5 to 160 metres.

 Canadian Families and Corrections Network
The CFCN's Coordinator Family Support project at Millhaven Assessment Unit, Millhaven Institution, provides an orientation on restorative justice to newcomers to the Assessment Unit.
At the prisoner's request, the CFCN mails orientation material and information on community resources to the family, including how the family can access further information and referral through CFCN's toll-free number.
The VRCs meet the needs of adults and children visiting an incarcerated family member or friend by providing a safe, pleasant environment where all visitors are met with dignity and respect.

In October, 1993, the Canadian Families and Corrections Network (CFCN) sponsored The Fourth North American Conference on the Family and Corrections, in Quebec City, in collaboration with FCN.
At this conference the policy recommendations from 1986 were distributed to all delegates, and a brief discussion took place.
Thanks to a grant from Correctional Services Canada, CFCN was able to convene a gathering of CFCN Steering Committee and family members (see list in Appendix A), in February, 1995, at Kananaskis, Alberta.
