It is currently taking about 147 days to repair Chinooks to re-deployment condition.
We suggest that we utilize the cargo restraint hooks on the Chinook's floor to add a length of nylon strap and a carabiner/snaplink that the troops would connect to their rigger's belts at their belly button so if the chopper crashes they are restrained until the wreckage comes to a stop.
Since the Chinook is going to be America's heavy lift helicopter for the next 20+ years its time we look at what we can do to maximize this air delivery means to get the job done on the non-linear battlefield.
