		CKNX, A-Channel Wingham (formerly known as The New NX) is a television station owned by CHUM Limited which serves mid-western Ontario.
		CKNX operations continued as such (with various temporary offices set up in Wingham) until they purchased new equipment and moved into a new building in 1963.
		CKNX disaffiliated from the CBC in 1988 and remained an independent station for another ten years until CHUM Limited purchased the station from Baton Broadcasting.

	CKNX Wingham
		CKNX moved to 920 kcs on the dial in 1941, increased power to 1,000 watts in 1942, and 2,500 watts in 1959.
		On March 1, 1971, CKNX Radio along with Television was sold to The Blackburn Group of London, with long experience in broadcasting and newspapers.

	CKNX Barn Dance
		At the initiative of W.T. 'Doc' Cruickshank, owner of CKNX and also a fiddler, barn dances began in the CKNX studio in the early 1930s.
		By the late 1940s three bands were associated with the show: the CKNX Ranch Boys (led by Don and Cora Robertson), the Golden Prairie Cowboys, and the CKNX Barn Dance Gang (featuring Earl Heywood).
