	CKSO - An historical retrospect of CKSO AM, FM & TV (Trivia)
		► March 29, 1941, CKSO moved from 780 to 790 kHz.
		When the original owner, W.E. Mason died in 1948, the executors of his estate took over operation of CKSO and in 1949 (some uncertainty over the date, also listed as 1951), CKSO Radio Ltd. whose owners were George M. Miller, J.M. Cooper, W.B. Plaunt Sr., and W.J. Woodill, purchased CKSO from the Mason estate.
		CKSO TV ► It was back in 1953, when CKSO TV signed on the air becoming Canada's first privately owned commercial television station.

		On October 25, 1953, CKSO went to air in Sudbury as Canada's first privately-owned television station.
		In the late 1960s, CKSO and CFCH merged to create Cambrian Broadcasting, and Lavigne established a network of CFCL retransmitters so vast that by 1972, it was the largest privately-owned microwave transmission network in the world.
		In 1977, Lavigne acquired CHRO in Pembroke, Ontario, another small-market station which was struggling to stay financially viable, and in 1979, Cambrian sold its radio stations in Sudbury, CKSO and CIGM, to United Broadcasting.
