Clist is a new programming language which is best suited to language problems typically tackled by either the C Programming Language and Lisp which are not speed critical.
Clist makes an excellent language as a front end to tools, it is easily extensible, and with the powerful set of built in data types it fits most applications.
Clist includes many of the library functions of C/C++ and of lisp, though many could have been left out due to the new data types and their operators and built in conversions.

Clist does not require you to type hiFunc() when there are no arguments, you can leave off the ().
One final note about this program, Clist is a call by value language just like C. That is, the arguments to functions cannot be modified by the function without changing the value of the argument in the caller's scope.
Since Clist has no pointers, the only way to get data out of a function is through a return value.

The American Programmer.com MVS TSO CLIST and REXX Tutorial. Convert CLIST (Legacy language) to REXX
CLIST has no way of designating a literal and no consistent way of indicating that something is a variable.
CLIST programs often tax the poor programmer's analytical capabilities as he or she tries to understand how CLIST attempts to interpret data strings as expressions and then tries valiantly to prevent it from doing so.
CLISTs are contained in libraries (PDSs) whose names end in ".CLIST." TSO is informed of the library by means of the TSO command ALLOCATE, which specifies the name of the library and the DDNAME (data definition name, abbreviated DDN) SYSPROC.
