Clover - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Clovers are used as food plants by the larvae of some Lepidoptera species including Latticed Heath, Garden Dart and Heart and Club.
Beekeepers are often in heavy demand from farmers with clover pastures, who want bees placed on their farms, as farmers observe the increased reseeding that occurs with increased bee activity.
Clovers are a valuable survival food, as they are high in protein, widespread, and abundant.

The Ge array consists of eleven segmented Clover detectors and ten elements of the old ORNL Compton Suppressed Spectrometer (CSS) array.
The array is deployed on the RMS beam line and surrounds a 15-cm radius target chamber ( photographs, drawing) with a forward fantail extending some 30 cm from the target.
The angles of the remaining Ge detectors are: 5 CSS at 57 deg., 1 CSS at 90 deg., 4 CSS at 120 deg., 4 Clovers at 132 deg.

Red clover is used as a remedy mainly for Bronchitis, Cough, Eczema, boils and acne.
Red clover is known as an alterative agent (i.e., one that produces gradual beneficial changes in the body, usually by improving nutrition; also known as a “blood cleanser”) (2).
Traditionally, red clover is taken as a tea, by adding 1 cup (250 ml) of boiling water to 2—3 teaspoons (10—15 grams) of dried flowers and steeping, covered, for ten to fifteen minutes (5).

 Red Clover
Internally, red clover is used as an alternative medicine for hot flashes that occur during menopause; skin complaints such as eczema and psoriasis; chronic degenerative diseases; gout; whooping cough; and dry coughs.
Red clover is a legume rich in isoflavonoid phytoestrogens including: genistein, daidzein, formononetin and biochanin-A, compounds that are now recognized for supporting critical hormone levels within the body in both men and women, without having any negative side effects.
Red clover has been a valued medicine since ancient times and was particularly valued for treating respiratory problems, colds, flues and infections in the 19th century.

 Patent 4234984: Pocketed spring assembly
In particular, it concerns a method and pattern of assembly of the pocketed spring coils in a "square" array, i.e., with each spring coil disposed in two rows at right angles to one another, which is maintained by a novel pattern of interconnection of the pocket material of adjacent strips of springs.
The "square" array is well-known, and would, from the standpoint of the uniformity of its corners and edges, be desirable for use in mattresses.
In summary, the direct spring-to-spring connection for maintaining pocketed spring coils in square array detracts from the ability of the spring assembly to conform to the body contours of a person reposed upon a mattress employing such a spring assembly, and was used more widely in seat cushions than as mattresses.

 Red Clover
Red clover is an important forage legume for eastern Oklahoma, and is generally grown with grasses or small grains for pastures.
Red clover leaves, stems, and petioles are covered with thick hairs, and its pinkish-violet flower are produced in dense clusters.
In pure clover stands, protein can be in excess of 20%; however, it is more realistic to expect 11-15% protein-hay in mixed stands of red clover and bermudagrass or fescue without nitrogen fertilizer.

Red Clover   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
Red clover is a source of many valuable nutrients including calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine, and vitamin C. Red clover is also considered to be one of the richest sources of isoflavones (water-soluble chemicals that act like estrogens and are found in many plants).
Because of the estrogen-like properties in red clover isoflavones, women with a history of breast cancer should avoid red clover (some studies suggest that synthetic and/or natural estrogens may increase the risk of breast cancer).
Red clover isoflavones should be used with caution, if at all, by people receiving hormone therapy (including birth control pills) containing estrogen, progesterone, androgen or any derivatives of these hormones.

Clovers will also be under the spotlight when Dr Rhodes takes part in an IGER seminar at Grassland 2002 on May 22 and 23.
The importance of the clovers hinges on their ability to capture nitrogen from the air (with the help of bacteria living in their roots) and make it available to companion plants such as ryegrasses, while also producing highly digestible herbage rich in protein and minerals.
White clover, the main UK species, has always had supporters among beef and sheep producers, especially in the uplands, but it has tended to be less popular with dairy farmers.

 CLOVER ARRAY Workshop 2003
The aim of the workshop is to open discussions on gamma-ray spectroscopy and nuclear structure employing the Clover Array coupled to PRISMA and stable ion beams.
The coupling of an array of Clover detectors with the PRISMA spectrometer is very well suited for studying the nuclear structure of moderately neutron rich nuclei, populated at relatively high angular momentum, by means of binary reactions such as multinucleon transfer and deep inelastic.
People planning to use the Clover Array coupled with Prisma or having new experimental or theoretical ideas in connection with the structure studies to be performed with this setup are encouraged to send contributions.

For Clark, Clover, and Moxley, the poem isn't a window overlooking a "common" reality; their use of an imaginative, disembodied lyric "I" leads not to the reiteration of exhausted modes of writing, but to experimentation and investigation, and to the question of what, and who, is the "I" made of?
Clover' poems are often "theatrical" reflections of the external world; his subjects include not only nuclear-bomb testing and the LA riots but the Holocaust ("Totenbuch" and "The autumn alphabets (3)") and historical figures ("The plaza: trotsky in exile").
Clover's poems progress incrementally, like the work of a cinematographer scanning a wide array of disparate images out of which he hopes to generate a visual texture.

The TIARA array is designed for the study of nucleon transfer reactions in inverse kinematics, using radioactive beams.
However, an interesting feature of the inverse kinematics [5] is that the energy-angle systematics of the target-like particle have very little dependence on the mass and energy of the beam, so long as the mass is large compared to the target (p or d) and the Q-value is not too large.

Patent 4424600: Adjustable firmness mattress pillow top
The interstrip connections 90 are conveniently, although not necessarily, made near the opposite faces of the spring assembly, where, because of the preferred barrel shape of the coil, the slack of the fabric between successive pockets near the ends of the coils facilitates the insertion of a tool appropriate to make the connection.
As a result of the connection, the pair of coils of each strip immediately adjacent to the interstrip connection 90 are joined with an opposing pair in a configuration which, in plan, resembles a four-leaf clover, each spring pocket being rotated approximately one-eight turn away from the longitudinal axis of its own strip.
This results in a slack reach of fabric along the interpocket seam 92 at each end thereof, an effect accentuated somewhat by the barrel shape of the coil 84 with which the invention is specifically illustrated.
