According to the agreement between the two sides, while the CPI (Maoist) and CPI-ML Janashakti would not attack police, politicians and government officials, the police would not launch combing operations against the Maoists.
Official sources said the agreement would be in force for three months during which the two sides would not resort to any armed action against each other.
Apart from the six-member CPI-Maoist delegation and five-member Janashakti team, eight mediators are also participating in the in-camera talks, which will be resumed on Saturday and go on for a couple of days in the first round.

He was one of the three leaders of Janashakti who participated in the talks with the government along with leaders of CPI-Maoist in October last year.

The CPI-ML Janashakti group of Naxalites released Martand Rao, a relative of Federal Home Minister Ch.
About 12 armed Naxals from the Janashakti Ranadheer group kidnapped Rao from the village of Korem pretending to be policemen sent to search the residence because they said the federal minister was also due to visit the village.
They abducted Rao and his son Ramu and after reaching the Chandurthi forests nearby ordered the son to return to the village along with a vehicle they took from the Rao residence.
