  Polytunnels
CPRE Herefordshire became aware of the potential for problems to arise from the expanding use of polytunnels in the County in 2002 and actively participated in the consultation process that led to the first Voluntary Code of Practice that Herefordshire Council produced.
CPRE Herefordshire believe that polytunnel cropping must take account of the countryside and intimate landscape of the County and that the basis for good practice should be ‘scale’ and ‘location’.
CPRE Herefordshire are campaigning to stop any further expansion of polytunnels within the Wye Valley AONB [Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty] and for polytunnels to be seen as contrary to the special landscape designation of these areas.
