  CR16
The interaction of WASP and CR16 is mediated through WASP's WH1 domain in the N-terminus and the C-terminus of CR16 in the exon 7 encoding region.
Throughout the CR16 sequence the many proline-rich regions may be bound by SH3 domains of a host of interacting proteins.
CR16 contains a VH (verprolin homology) domain but it is not yet clear if this is the actin-binding region.

The value of cr16 is constantly incrementing in relation to the insn counter.
CPUX and CPUY are not guaranteed to have cr16 in sync.
Instead it is suggested that if the difference between two cr16 measurements is greater than 1ms that the value be discarded as inaccurate and exceeding the useful range of the measurement.

The CR16 RISC Cores are used throughout National in a variety of products.  Now National's Device Connectivity Division has introduced the next generation of products base on the CR16C Core:  The CP3000 Family.
The CR16 Family of General Purpose Microcontrollers (with the CR16B Core) are not recommended for new designs.  Instead, the CP3000 Family offers an upgrade with:

iSYSTEM announces that its iC2000 PowerEmulator line now supports the CR16 family of microcontrollers from National Semiconductor.
To support the CR16 microcontroller family, iSYSTEM developed a new highly integrated probe based on National's bondout device.
Should a new project require a change in compilers, the winIDEA interface remains the same, saving setup and learning time.

The CR16 (CompactRISC) microcontroller is a complete microcomputer with all system timing, interrupt logic, program memory, data memory, and I/O ports included on-chip, making it well-suited to a wide range of embedded controller applications.
CR16 Microcontrollers have up to 56 software-configurable I/O pins, organized into a maximum of seven 8-pin ports called Port B, Port C, Port F, Port G, Port L, and Port I. Each pin can be configured to operate as a general-purpose input or general-purpose out-put.
CR16 A/B specific extensions to suit embedded programming.

 [No title]
It allows you to run CR16 assembly code, set breakpoints, examine registers, memory, etc. It’s a really good way to test if your CR16 does what a “real” CR16 would do.
The libraries implement CR16 interrupt handling, and the interrupt handlers do debugger stuff, like single stepping.
To initialize the interrupt handlers, the debugger needs a different start.s (debug_start.s) and a different memory map, debug_linker.def.
