DM has the potential of solving DS problems, for example when previous decisions have been recorded as data to be used for analysis with DM tools.
Usually, DM tasks are solved by a single individual or group of individuals working jointly on a problem.
However, with the Internet and advances of group support methodologies and tools, DM tasks could be solved through a collaboration of different groups of researchers at different sites.
The funding for CRISP from the European Commission ends by April 30, 1999.
In the project meeting after the Brussels workshop it was decided to go forward in building a more "global" consortium and both SPSS and NCR confirmed their intention to be part of the consortium (if they are not the only two members) Next CRISP meeting is tentatively planned in San Diego, in conjunction with KDD-99.
If you are interested in participating in setting the global standards for the data mining process, please contact Thomas Reinartz, DaimlerChrysler, 89081 Ulm, Germany email: thomas.reinartz@daimlerchrysler.com You can also email to list crisp.sig@dbag.ulm.daimlerbenz.com for discussions.

We have analyzed the data set on meningoencephalitis according to the CRISP data mining methodology.
We conducted all the basic steps - business understanding, data understanding, data preparation, modeling using a few different techniques, evaluation of results with help of expert and we hope in deployment of our results in practice.
Keywords: CRISP, decision trees, decision rules, association rules, decomposable models.
The Crisp-Manual is well-written and especially non-tekkies can benefit from it.
After having done some projects myself I can feel that this process model is not written by people who have never been out in a company and only discussing DM in theory but who exacly know all the issues which occur when doing a real project.
I did several projects according to CRISP and it always worked fine!

Data Mining Server(Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-29)
Data mining server (DMS) is an internet service for online data analysis based on knowledge induction.
The service begins with user's data upload to our server, after that computations are performed on the server, and finally the results are submitted to the users.
