 | | Launched in March of 2001, the Center for Sports Parenting (CSP) is a Web-based initiative that offers immediate and practical guidance to parents, coaches, educators, administrators, officials, and all other individuals involved in youth sports, equipping them with the information needed to handle the psychological and physical challenges faced by young people participating in athletics. |
 | | The CSP was founded to meet two pressing needs for parents of young athletes. |
 | | First, to provide immediate, practical assistance for parents, coaches, educators, administrators, officials, referees, umpires and all other individuals involved in youth sports; and second, CSP is committed to researching the latest practices in the area of sports parenting, with special emphasis on coaching, communication, motivation and athletic development. |
