The opening game between CTCRM and the Cdo Log Regt RM was a close, hard-fought affair, resulting in a 4-4 draw.
The final turned out to be a more clear-cut affair than the opener, with a buoyant CTCRM playing constructive rugby interspersed with flashes of individual brilliance.
CTCRM ran out 20-5 winners, led superbly by Sgt Chris Richards, who was named player of the tournament.

As this was my first national course and the furthest I’d ever been on the train on my own I was unsure of what to expect but the train was the easiest thing I had to do by far.
Our days at CTCRM started at 0600 and finished at 2300 which meant that with very little time to yourself, the course was packed full of lessons, activities and exercises.
There were 18 other cadets on the course and we were broken down in to three 6 man sections, we trained primarily as a course but also trained in our sections for things like weapons handling.

At the end of last term, as part of their work experience element of their course, the group was living at the Commando Training Centre, Royal Marines (CTCRM) at Lympstone near Exeter on the south coast.
The Training team down at CTCRM commented on how motivated the students were and complimented them on entering into all activities with so much gusto.

On 4th August Aviation Fuels and Mechanical Transport Flight (AFMT Flt) from Logistics Squadron, RAF Lyneham, ventured to the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) at Lympstone to complete the gruelling ‘Commando Challenge’.
The challenge involved a 3.5 mile run and water endurance course, followed by a 3.5 mile weighted march with 50 lb Bergens.
We would like to offer our thanks to them and the staff at CTCRM for allowing us to complete the course and, just as importantly, to all of our sponsors for helping us to raise over £1200 for the riding school.

Thus the CLs were called upon to prepare the men of No.43 Commando for the first Norwegian exercise carried out by the Royal Marines in October 1962.
Several years later it was decided to increase the troop's expertise by putting all members through a reconnaissance course run by the Platoon Weapons Branch at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM), Lympstone.
This was done in 1965 and the unit now became known as the Reconnaissance Leader Troop.
