CTV Atlantic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CTV Atlantic (formerly known as ATV) is a system of four television stations in the Canadian Maritimes, owned and operated by the CTV Television Network.
However, CTV Atlantic has had some of the highest ratings of any local newscasts in Canada, although its presence and viewing audience is somewhat less in Prince Edward Island mainly as a result of competition from a local CBC station which provides the province's only PEI-specific newscast.
CTV News airs at 12:00 PM (on ASN), 6:00 PM, and 11:30 PM on weekdays and 6:00 PM on weekends.

CTV television network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CTV made a name for itself in news coverage when it convinced star CBC news anchor Lloyd Robertson to switch networks in 1976.
In early 2005, CTV was part of the consortium that won the Canadian broadcast rights to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, as well as the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Although this is no longer the case, for many years some CTV stations were better known by colloquial names than by their official call letters (a situation that generally did not apply to CBC stations).

CTV sees the opportunity to distinguish itself with excellence in six program genresNews, both local and national Drama Documentaries Variety and Comedy, and SportsThese are six genres that Canadians love to watch.
CTV may not hit a bull’s eye every time, but by dramatically increasing the amount of top-quality programming aired and created every year, its aim should improve more rapidly and there should be more arrows on their way to the target of self-sustaining Canadian programming.
CTV commits to use these additional funds for Canadian drama; andContinued modernization of the copyright regime, to allow full value for program rights across all media platforms. It is critical to ensure that the Canadian Television Fund be a permanent fund, with ongoing government support at least at current levels of $100 million.
