CABATUAN, Isabela -- At least 116 farmers in Isabela province, who suffered production losses due to their failed harvest of the Magilas 500 hybrid rice seeds in the past months, were given assistance last week by seed supplier Monsanto-Philippines.
The assistance came in the form of farm and chemical inputs, said Danilo Tumamao, Isabela provincial agriculture officer.
According to the firm's findings, the cause of the failed "seed setting" was the changing temperatures in the affected areas.
